Kelly McCormack
is an award winning actor, screenwriter, musician and Executive Producer of Floyder Films Inc. Beginning her career in classical music and theatre before moving into filmmaking, Kelly brings together a cross section of artists from traditionally separate disciplines. Her primary focus in storytelling, as in her activism, is within the realm of what she calls “gender pain” – stories that seek to illuminate and shift exceptions of masculinity and femininity.

Kelly’s debut feature film Play the Film won five Best Screenplay awards internationally, and her second feature film Barn Wedding released internationally with A71 Entertainment. She also produced and starred in the hit CBC digital original series The Neddeaus of Duqesne Island directed by Sam Zvibleman (Pen15) who won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction on the series. Kelly is currently in post production for her latest film Sugar Daddy which she wrote and stars in alongside Colm Feore, Amanda Brugel, Aaron Ashmore and Nick Campbell, directed by world famous music video director Wendy Morgan (Janelle Monae, Gnarls Barkley, The Kills) and produced by Lauren Grant (Clique Pictures) and Lori Lozinski (Violator Films).

As an actor, Kelly currently plays Zeph – the androgynous science nerd on Killjoys (Syfy/Space), and Betty-Anne – the trash talking hockey player on Letterkenny (Hulu/CraveTV). Kelly also had a leading role in Paul Fieg’s noir thriller A Simple Favor and just finished an original opera Charlotte directed by OBE awarded director Pamela Howard which debuted at the Luminato Festival and the World Stage Design Festival in Taiwan. Other recent credits include appearing alongside James Franco in JJ Abrams’ series 11.22.63 (Hulu) and Ricky Gervais in Special Correspondents (Netflix) Guest starring in the The Expanse (Syfy), Crawford (Comedy Central/CBC), Save Me (CBC), How to Buy a Baby (CBC), Damien (Fox), Defiance (Syfy), That’s my DJ (Neon Panther).
